Mary Jane Melton

Mary Jane Melton 84, of Tilton passed away at 4:25 am Saturday October 10, 2015 at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman. She was born January the 6, 1931 in Fairmount, IL, the daughter of Frank and Ella Gayhart Birchfield. Mary had married James F. Melton SR in Tilton, he preceded her on October 16, 1994 Those who will miss her are her two sons; James F. (Bonnie) Melton JR of Georgetown, Robert A. (Tracy) Melton of Danville, four grandchildren; JJ Melton of Georgetown and Sandi (Kevin) Lewis of Georgetown, Jason and Karl Melton both of Vermont. Four great-grandchildren; Grace and Dierks lewis, Hunter and Hailey Melton, also special friends; Arlene Nichols of Tilton and Anita Livengood of Robinson. Mary was preceded by her parents, four brothers and three sisters. Mary Retired from Peterson after 40 years of service. She was a member of United Church of Tilton. Mary loved the outdoors, visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also with her friends. A celebration of life funeral service for Mary Jane Melton will be 11:00 am Tuesday October13, 2015 at The United Church of Tilton 520 W 5th street Tilton, IL. Officiating will be Pastor Anita Livengood. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00am prior to her service.
