Mary Jane Freed

Newport, IN - Mary Jane Freed, 63, of Newport, IN passed away Sunday, June 4, 2006 at 12:20 AM at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born April 19, 1943 in Vermillion County, IN, the daughter of the late James Carver and Goldie Hatch Williams. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Joe Freed, a brother, Joseph Williams and a sister, Marie McCarty. Mary married Samuel Freed on December 19, 1959 in Newport, IN. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Connie Sue Freed of Newport, IN and a son, Dennis Wayne (Lori) Freed, of Clinton, IN; two granddaughters, Katelyn and Madison Freed; two brothers, Paul Hatch of Danville, Ill and Donald (Kim) Williams of Bowling Green, KY. Mary Jane was a homemaker. She was a member of the Newport American Post # 184 Auxiliary. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, sitting in her gazebo and most of all her two granddaughters. Services: 10 AM, Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga, IN; Officiating: Pastor Gary N. Click; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, IN; Visitation: Tuesday, June 6, 2006, 5 to 8 PM. at the funeral home.
