Mary J. Harden

Tilton Mary J. Harden, 64, of Tilton passed away at 5:30 PM on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born August 19, 1958 to Gene Porter and Clara Godsey. She married Frank D. Harden on November 25, 1978 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2011.

Mary is survived by her children, Regina Johnson of Danville and Frank (Amanda) Harden II of Fairmount; five granddaughters, Alyssa and Breanna Johnson, Kylie, Madison, and Audrey Harden; four siblings, Niles (Nancy) Godsey, Sheronette Avery, Aurece Conner, and Terri Dunne; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Nadean Canamore, Levi Godsey, Kenny Godsey, and Quintion Godsey.

Mary worked as a store department manager for Sears and later Sallys. She loved to stay busy, especially if that meant gardening and working in her lawn. Mary especially enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her friends and family.

A service to celebrate the life of Mary J. Harden will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Jim Russell will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service on Monday, also at Sunset in Danville.
