Mary Juanita Cintella, 98, of Westville, passed away at 11:15pm, April 16, 2014, at North Logan Health Care, Danville. She was born on April 14, 1916, to Thomas and May {Monks} Pitchford in Westville. She was married to Paul Cintella on July 4, 1940, in Georgetown until his passing on February 22, 1979. She attended Westville Schools and was valedictorian of her class. She worked as a seamstress for three sewing factories and later worked for the Jr High School in the lunch program. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter for 50 years and was a Past Matron. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #51 and Illiana Organaires. Mary was an honorary member of the Ridge Farm O.E.S. and past President of the Westville Home Extension and Grand of Color from Georgetown Rainbow Girls. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ since she was 16 years old. She enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, reading, and puzzles. She is survived by: her sisters-in-law, Martha Paine & Lois Palfi; her special niece & caretaker, Donna LaFoe; her nieces, Rita Cotten, Peggy Nelson and many more nieces & nephews, as well as, great nieces & great nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her son, Richard; her brothers, Thomas, Joseph, & Harold; and her sisters, Lucille Day, Ann Boyd, & Freda Emery. A celebration of Marys life will be held 2:00pm, Monday, April 21, 2014, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Pastor Connie Tapp-Bandy officiating. Visitation will be Noon - 2:00pm, Monday, April 21, 2014, at the funeral home prior to her service. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Trinity United Church of Christ or Faith in Action.
