Mary Ilene Van Pelt

Mary Ilene Van Pelt, 84, of Covington, passed away Sunday November 21, 2021, at the home of her daughter with her family by her side. She was born on January 6, 1937, in Vermillion County, Indiana, the daughter of Robert and Mary {Lowry) Edwards. She married Austin Van Pelt on May 29, 1954, in Warren County, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 1996. Surviving are her children, Gale Van Pelt, Linda (Nick) Fulmer, both of Perrysville, Diana (Jimmy) Saylor of Covington, and Lora (Justin) Taylor of Bowling Green, IN; her grandson, Jason Lewis; and great grandchildren, Zee, Natasha, and Xander. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and seven siblings. A celebration of Ilenes life will be held at 1:00pm (EST), Friday, November 26, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana. Visitation will be held 11:00am to 1:00pm on Friday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in West Lebanon Cemetery.
