Mary H. Reed

Mary H. Reed, 94, of Danville passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville. She was born February 23, 1924 in Catlin, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Nettie Robertson. She married George Adams on May 16, 1948. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1975 in Danville, IL. She married Charles H. Reed, Jr. on May 17, 1992 in Georgetown, IL. He preceded her in death October 11, 2000.

She is survived by two step daughters, Charlene (Jason)Knapp of Rankin, IL, and Ruth Ann (Gary) Kaufman of Mission Veyo, CA; five step grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorene Luce; four brothers, Harvey, Claude, Leo and Herman Robertson; sister-in-law; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Elva Josephine, Alberta Bardell and one brother, Lawrence Robertson.

Mary worked at Earl W. Gasthoffs and retired from Danville Care Center. She was a member of Danville Eastern Starr #854 and a past worthy high priestess of Acheson Shrine #65 in Danville and a member of Athelstan Auxiliary and St. James United Methodist Church.

A celebration of Marys life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61834. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Springhill Cemetery.
