Mary Freda Mikel

WESTVILLE - Mary Freda Mikel, 80, of Westville, passed away at 9:05pm, Monday, August 27th, 2007, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman, IL. Mary was born on January 16th, 1927, in Jamesburg, IL, the daughter of Ernest S. and Verla F. (Thompson) Dukes, both deceased. Mary was wed to Joseph J. Mikel on March 15th, 1952, at St. Marys Church of Westville. He preceded her in death in July 1977. She will be missed by: her daughter, Georgene (Ed) Bath of Danville; her three grandchildren, Garrett (Kim) Pabst of Danville, Joseph Pabst of Westville, and Wesley Pabst of Danville; her two brothers, Gene (Mary Ruth) Dukes of Kingman, IN, and Bill Dukes of Oakwood; her three sisters, Lucy (Bud) Woodard of Oakwood, Helen Larrance of Champaign, and Susan Mercer of Stratford, OK; and her son-in-law, Gaylen Pabst of Danville. Her two sisters- Florence and Irene, her two brothers - Pearl and Ralph, and her daughter - Jeanine, preceded Mary in death. Mary was a graduate of Oakwood High School and later employed with General Electric of Danville where she retired after 35 years of service. She also worked at Royal Donut in Danville where she enjoyed meeting and talking to people. She enjoyed her completing puzzles and spending time with her grandsons. A graveside service for Mary will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, August 31st, 2007, at St. Peter & Pauls Cemetery in Westville. Officiating will be Father Richard Brunskill. As per Marys wishes, she will be cremated with no services prior to the graveside. Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
