Mary 'Fran' Ward

Mary Frances "Fran" McGough Ward passed away March 31, 2023 at Gardenview Manor, Danville. She was 81.

Fran was born March 19, 1942 in Denver, Colorado to Frank and Dorothy McGough. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Ward, her parents, sister Kay Ray, brother Tom McGough and brother James McGough. She is survived by stepson Tim Ward, Honolulu; sister Peg, San Diego; and brother Mike, Baltimore; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A 1960 graduate of Schlarman High School, Fran earned her degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University, also studying at the University of Illinois and Danville Area Community College. She taught in Danville schools for more than 20 years, then served 15 years as a Victims Advocate for Vermilion County. Visitation at Holy Family Catholic Church, 10 AM Saturday, April 22, followed by Mass at 11 AM.
