Mary Ellen Severs

Mary Ellen Severs age 91 of Collison passed away at 6:35 A.M. Tuesday December 5, 2006 at Hoopeston Community Memorial Nursing Home. She was born August 31, 1915 in Hallsville, IL and was adopted by M.E. and Grace Williams Shields in 1919. She married Howard P. Severs on May 11, 1935 in Atwood, IL; he preceded her in death February 20, 1992. They had both graduated from Atwood High School. Surviving are two sons; Dudley (Joy) Severs of Potomac, Dwight (Laurie) Severs of Titusville, Fl, one daughter; Marilyn (Dewain) Moore of Rossville, ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents and one grandson Matthew. Mary and her husband Howard had farmed in the collision area for many years and then retired and moved to Titusville, Florida. She was a member of Indian River City United Methodist Church in Titusville. One of her greatest joys was being able to take a trip to the Holy land. Mary enjoyed fishing, flowers, her family and her grandchildren. A celebration of life funeral service for Mary Severs will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday December 9, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Officiating will be Pastor Bill Henry. Place of rest will be in Potomac Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. to 11: 00 A.M. on Saturday Dec 9, 2006 prior to the Funeral Service.
