Mary Ellen (Spickard) Reynolds, 90, completed her earthly journey at 8:58 P.M. Mountain Time, Monday, September 25, 2017 at Sage West Medical Center in Lander, Wyoming. She was born March 16, 1927 in Vermilion County Illinois, the youngest child of the late Pearl and Jenny (Coxen) Spickard. She was married June 25, 1944 in Danville, IL to Milton Harold Reynolds. He preceded her in death October 3, 2008. Mary is survived by two daughters, Sharon Kay Neild and Marilyn Jean Carpenter both of Danville; three grandchildren, Tia Phillips of Danville, Lisa (Carpenter) Barker of Tilton, and John (Shanna Voorhees) Carpenter of Imperial, Missouri; eight great grandchildren, Ashlea Robbins, Michelle and Michael Phillips, Sidney (Katelin Forton) Barker and Logan Barker, Joshua, Shelby and Caden Carpenter; three great great grandchildren Raylin Robbins, Kingston Crawford and Brantley Barker. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, a special friend, Frances Kingan and special niece, Sara Spickard. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters; Gertrude Pope and Margaret Lape; seven brothers; Otto, Earl, William, Walter, Don, John and Cecil Spickard. She was also preceded in death by both sons-in-law Delbert (Russ) Neild and Robert Dean Carpenter. Mary enjoyed being outside planting flowers and pulling weeds. She liked to rest in her chair by the back door and watch the humming birds at the feeders she kept filled for them. Most of all she adored her time with great great grandson, Brantley, playing with him, rocking him to sleep and singing him nursery rhymes. Visitation for Mary E. Reynolds will begin at 1 P.M. Saturday October 7, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Services will begin at 2 P.M. with Raymie Gordon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
