Mary Ellen Myers

Newport, Ind. - Mary Ellen Myers, 92, of Newport, passed away at 3:55 p.m. EST Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton, Indiana. She was born February 13, 1922 in Vermillion County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Lee E. and Ada m. Peterson Richardson. Mary married Everett C. Myers on February 15, 1946 in Cayuga, Indiana. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2003. Survivors include her children, Kenneth Wayne Myers of Georgetown, Illinois; Judith Kay(Billy)Francis of Dana, Indiana; Phyllis Ann(Loren)Orndorff and Terry Lee(Elsie)Myers both of Newport, Indiana; eleven grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Everett Myers, Jr.; grandson, Gary Francis; two sisters and one brother. Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of the Dana Church of the Nazarene. Mary enjoyed raising flowers, gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EST Monday, January 5, 2015 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Don Morgan; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 1 p.m. EST Monday, January 5, 2015 until time of services at the funeral home.
