Kingman, Ind. -- Mary Ellen Jackson, 92, of Kingman, Indiana, passed away at 2:45 a.m. EST Friday, January 4, 2008 at Hickory Creek at Crawfordsville in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She was born January 19, 1915 in Newport, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Bennett McGill. She married Henry Wesley Jackson on June 16, 1934 in Bloomingdale, Indiana. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1989. Survivors: two sons, John(Melinda)Jackson and Charles "Gary"(Pat)Jackson both of Crawfordsville, Indiana; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Donna J. Harrison of Zionsville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Mary Ellen's memberships included the Kingman United Methodist Church, 73 year member of the Fountain Chapter #204 O.E.S., Birthday Club, Women's Club, Kingman Senior Citizens Club and the Kingman Home Economics Club. She was a 1933 graduate of Kingman High School. Mary Ellen enjoyed playing the piano for the Kingman United Methodist Church and the Fountain Chapter #204 O.E.S. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EST Monday, January 7, 2008 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Ken Majors; Burial: Kingman Fraternal Cemetery in Kingman, Indiana; Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. EST Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, C/O Burn Center, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607-1460 or to the Kingman United Methodist Church, C/O Marge Keeling, P.O. Box 163, Kingman, Indiana 47952.
