Mary Elizabeth Barteck

Mary Elizabeth Barteck, 98, of Westville, passed away at 11:26am, Saturday, January 13, 2018, at North Logan Health Care, Danville. She was born on August 7, 1919, in Czechoslovakia the daughter of John and Anna {Lesko} Holecz. She was united in marriage to Andrew Barteck on April 3, 1937, in Westville until his passing in 1981. Mary is survived by: her daughters, Mary Carter & Bernadette Berg; her grandchildren, Jeff (Deanna) Maire, Mark Berg, Ed (Terry) Barteck, Chris (Kathy) Barteck, Terry (Andres) Gutierrez Carter, Tracey (Mick) Taylor, & Angie (Greg) Lazzell; her son-in-law, Tom Maire; and several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, & nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her daughter, Elizabeth Maire; her son, Andrew Barteck; her sister, Margaret Hurst; and her brother, Frank Holecz. At 4 years old, Mary moved here from Czechoslovakia. She worked for GE for many years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am, Friday, January 19, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 N State St, Westville, with Father Saupp officiating. Visitation will be 4pm-7pm, Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville. She will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery.
