Mary Elam, 87, of Danville passed away on November 3, 2007 at The VA Illiana Health Care Systems in Danville. Mary was born January 14, 1920 in Danville daughter of Dial William and Rowena Mansfield Elam. Survivors include sister: Betty (Oscar) Boyd of Tilton and six nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother & a sister. Mary was a graduate of Danville High School and the University of Illinois. She served in WWII as a WAC Corporal from August 1943 until November of 1945. She owned and operated two restaurants in Toledo, Ohio for many years. A Celebration of Marys Life will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Sunsets Community & Life Tribute Center 3550 N. Vermilion St. (formerly Lakeside-Barrick Funeral Chapel) with Pastor Marvin McCormick officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
