Danville- Mary E. Phillips, 86, of Danville passed away at 4:56 AM on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Danville Care Center Nursing Home. She was born on October 31, 1924 in Danville to Jim J. and Iva M Lappin Jameson. She married John M. Phillips on May 21, 1960 at the Methodist Church in Urbana, IL. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2007. Surviving are son Herman (Diana) Wyatt of Danville; sister Helen Kobosky of Decatur; grandchildren James D. (Birgit) Wyatt of Germany, Karla J. (Michael) Neff of Danville, Stephanie D. (Chris Moore) Wyatt of Danville, and Tiphanie A. (Troy) Baker, also of Danville; great-grandchildren Frances Wyatt, Brock J. Hyland, Christopher M. Moore, and Kenneth David-James Baker; sisters-in-law Dorothy Dot Jameson and Imogene Day; very special neighbors Leon Bud, Kay, Kurt, and Kevin Miller; and several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Nick Jameson and William Jameson, sister Dorothy Ross, and brothers-in-law Gene Kobosky, Tom Day, and sister-in-law Virginia Jameson. Mary was a graduate of Douglas School and High School as well as Danville Beauty School. She was the owner and operator of Maryellens Beauty Shop for 35 years. She had been a past member of the Hairdressers Association, Bowling League, the Square Dance Club (Friendly Mixers), and the Illinois Power Retirees Club. Mary also loved to travel and enjoyed her son and his family as well as all of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marys family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Danville Care as well as Dr. Labayog and Dr. Malhotra for their loving care. A service for Mary Phillips will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at The Church of the Holy Trinity, Episcopal. Father Geoffrey Scanlon will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services at the church. Mary Ellen was baptized in the Church of the Holy Trinity at birth. Her son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were also baptized in the church.
