Mary Louise Cravens

Mary Louise Cravens, 95, of Danville passed away on October 7, 2026 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center. She was born on August 25, 1931 in Danville the daughter of Ralph and Ina {Newnum} Woodward. They preceded her in death.

Mary Lou was known for her good sense of humor and quick wit, gifts that brought joy to those around her and made her company a blessing to many. She married Ralph Cravens on January 25, 1986 and shared many wonderful memories together until his passing in 2024.

Mary Lou spent many, many years babysitting in Oakwood and worked as a waitress at Knoll Truck Stop. In both roles, she was someone who connected with others and left a lasting impression through her love and kindness. She loved flowers and especially gardening. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she treasured the time she shared with them. She also had a fondness for Taco Tuesdays, one of the many small joys that added color and happiness to her days.

A faithful member of Christway Church in Danville, Mary sang in the choir and lived with a sincere love for Jesus. Her faith was an important part of her life.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her brother Charles Woodward; son Troy Estock; and stepsons Steve and Arnold Cravens.

Mary Lou is survived by her children Patty (Pete) Meeker, Mike Estock, and daughter-in-law Laveda Cravens; as well as her grandchildren Quent (Michelle) Meeker, Melissa (Travis) Escamilla, Jennifer (David) McQuown, Bo (Traci) Miller, Niccole Swider (Byron), Joshua (Chelsea) Estock, Jordan Estock, Kerry (Chad) Halcombe, Candice (Tim) Wright, and Mark Weidner. She will also be missed by 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law Shirley Woodward; her bonus sons Don and Joe Crist; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will take place from 1 – 3 pm on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. A funeral service celebrating her life will immediately follow at 3 pm that day at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Parr officiating. She will be placed to rest at Sunset Memorial Park’s Mausoleum following services on Monday. Memorial donations can be made in honor to the Christway Church of Danville.
