Danville - Mary Cosgrove, 82, of Danville, went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2014. She was born March 16, 1932 in Rileysburg, IN the daughter of Henry and Helen (Gouty) Altenstadter. She married Andrew Cosgrove on November 8, 1952 in Danville. She is survived by her sons, Jeffery (Charlotte) Cosgrove and John Cosgrove; her Brother, James (Marlene) Altenstadter; her sisters, Jean Wilkes, Norma (Tom) Jenkins, and Carolyn (Bob) Ficker; her grandchildren, William (Amy) Cosgrove, Christine Cosgrove, and Hilari (Kevin) Sautbine; and her great-grandson Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son David. Mary graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1952. She was also a member of the St. Elizabeth Alumni Association. Mary was a very caring person; which is an important trait for a nurse to have. She was the nurse for the whole neighborhood; before parents would take their kids to the doctors office, they would go see what Mary had to say about it. She also loved her Lord; Mary was a church organist and pianist for many years, she was also a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. She was part of the Christian Womens Club. Marys true passion in life was her family; she loved her grandchildren, she would play games with them, teach them, and sometimes learn from them. Mary truly loved her family, she will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. A celebration of Marys life will be held at 10am on Thursday May 15, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A visitation will be held on Wednesday May 14, 2014 from 4pm to 8pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Work Source Enterprises. Please join the Cosgrove Family in sharing memories, pictures, and videos of Marys life on her tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
