Mary C Peterson

Mary C. Peterson, age 83 of Westville, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 4:25 PM at Presence USMC in Danville, with family by her side. She was born May 1, 1932 in Danville the daughter of James and Susan (Hashman) White. While working in her garden one day, love started to grow and bloom when she met Ray. After a courtship and trips to Florida, she married Ray Peterson on December 18, 1998 in Live Oak, FL and he preceded her in death in July 2000. Mary will be greatly missed by her daughter, Susan Page of Westville; brothers, Charles (Carol) White of Fort Pierce Florida, George (Betty) White of Tilton, Hershel (Charlotte) White of Danville, Albert White of Danville, and Bill White of Danville; sisters, Nancy Hardy and Linda White, both of Danville; special niece, Angel White of Danville; as well as several other nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, brothers, Henry White, Bob White, Carl White and Jerry White. Mary was a LPN for over 40 years and after retirement, she provided private care to individuals in their home. Mary was a member of the First Church of Christ in Westville. She enjoyed gardening and making fudge and jelly. Mary loved to collect dolls, going to different festivals, especially the Covered Bridge Festival. Mary was a loyal listener of KISS Country's Country Classic Show on Saturday mornings for many years and often requested Fraulein by Bobby Helms. She loved Country Music. A must have in Mary's life was a Diet Coke with extra ice and a plain hamburger from McDonalds. Mary loved her pets dearly and they will miss her very much. She leaves behind her Chihuahuas, Missy and Eva, black lab Abby, and cats Susie and Sally. Mary and her daughter were best friends and loved to do everything together. She will miss her terribly along with her special niece, Angel. A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held Monday, September 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville. Pastor Scott McCurdy will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3-7 Pm Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorials in Mary's name can be made to American Heart Association, The American Diabetes Association, or Fairchild Animal Hospital.
