Cayuga, Ind. - Mary C. Dowers, 79, of Cayuga, passed away at 1:40 p.m. EDT Friday, July 26, 2013 at Clinton Gardens in Clinton, Indiana. She was born July12, 1934 in Fountain County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charley and Zula M. Trosper Bush, Sr. Mary married Leonard A. Dowers, I on July 11, 1953 in Howard, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2010. Survivors include her children, Dennis(Linda)Dowers of Lewisburg, Tennessee; Denise(Frank)Dixon of Georgetown, Illinois and Lenny(Missy)Dowers of Cayuga, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Dwayne(Kasey)Dowers of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; Alvin(Teri)Dowers of Columbia, Tennessee; Matthew(Amber)Paige of Holden, Massachusetts; Derek(Sadie Taylor)Paige of Cayuga, Indiana; Manda(Terry)Paris of Catlin, Illinois; Rylee and Teegan Dowers of Cayuga, Indiana; eight great grandchildren, Daelyne and Baylee Dowers of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; Mason and Cambrie Paige of Holden, Massachusetts; Zyaan Taylor and Ty Paige of Cayuga, Indiana and Diezel and Piper Paris of Catlin, Illinois; step granddaughter, Chris(Tracy)Miller of Fairview Heights, Illinois; step great grandchildren, Collin and Camern Miller of Fairview Heights, Illinois; two sisters, Donna Sue(Jim)Ellis of Newport, Indiana; Irene(Richard)Omundson of Dana, Indiana; four brothers, Russell Bush of Perrysville, Indiana; Bill(Eula)Bush of Dana, Indiana; Orville Bush of Cayuga, Indiana and Raymond(Ruthann)Bush of Lodi, Indiana; several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers. Mary attended the Cayuga Presbyterian Church. She was a 1952 graduate of Tangier High School. Mary was a life member of the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 263 and a member of the Cayuga Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed mushrooming, gardening and going to her grandchildrens little league baseball games. In her younger days, she enjoyed rollerskating at the Lodi Park skating rink. Mary enjoyed life and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana with memorial services by the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary; Officiating: Rev. Hana Elliott; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: Noon EDT until time of services on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the funeral home.
