Mary Brandt

Mary L. Brandt, age 77, of Danville, passed away at 6:41 am on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at her home. She was born February 11, 1931 in Danville the daughter of George and Rose (Piecho) Morris. Mary married Robert Brandt. He survives. Also surviving are her three children: Jerry Patterson, Duane Brandt, Rose Jackson; five sisters: Helen Harvey, Julie Reffett, Theresa Osterbur, Pauline Baszis, Sister Judith Morris; six grandchildren: Holly, John, Jill, Katherine, Loren, Hannah: three great grandchildren: Kayla, Dessie, and Henry. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Ted, Tony, George Morris, and two sisters: Rosie Strawser and Lucille Murphy. Mary was a member of the first graduating class at Schlarman High School. She then attended St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Danville then at the VA Hospital until her retirement. She loved playing bingo, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary was in a mixed bowling league with her husband. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Danville. A celebration of the life of Mary Brandt will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Fuenen officiating. Burial will follow the service at Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, December 15, 2008 at the funeral home.
