Mary Block

Mary Block - Danville. On September 15, 2015 a great loss was felt with the passing of Mary Block, a precious wife, mother and grandmother. She stayed with us for 94 years and loved and belonged to the Lord. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Block. Some of those left behind to miss her are her children, Robert Block, Mary Costa, Martha McDonald, Sharon Walters and Michael Block. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Lisa, Shannah, Timothy, Rebecca, Stephanie, Kim and Trent; great-grandchildren, Kara, Jordan, Veronica, Bayleigh, Christian, Alexia and Trinity; even three great-great grandchildren, as well as spouses who loved her as their own mother and grandmother. Mary leaves memories of painting, card playing, caregiving and being just plain silly sometimes. Our memories make us smile. We rejoice in the Lord! We rejoice in His answer to prayer! Thank you Lord for the time we were given with her and the peace you bestowed. Isiah 61:3 "to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified." There will be a private family service to honor her on Friday September 19, 2015 at Springhill Cemetery. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville is in charge of arrangements.
