Mary Ann Patricia Theresa Vandament

Mary Ann Patricia Theresa Vandament, age 86, of Danville, Illinois, passed away following surgery at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital in May 2026.

Mary Ann will be remembered for her sense of humor, kindness, devotion to her family, love of gardening, nature, and animals.

For more than 25 years, she worked in the Westville, Illinois, public schools, where she devoted herself to helping children learn to read through the Title I program. She cared deeply for her students and took great pride in encouraging their confidence, curiosity, and love of learning.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by the grandparents who raised her and by her husband of 46 years, James L. Vandament.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy E. Vandament; her son-in-law, James W. Blasko; and her grandson, X.G. Vandament-Blasko.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held at 2:00-4:00 PM on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary Ann’s memory to a local animal shelter, land conservation organization, or bird sanctuary.
