Danville- Mary Ann Taylor, 78, of Danville passed away at 7:47 PM on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Provena Covenant in Urbana. She was born on November 6, 1932 in South Milwaukee, WI to Del L. and Matilda Bernard Laughlin. She married Charles John Taylor on September 25, 1954 in St. Paul, MN. He survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Lynn Louise (Scott) White of St. Charles, MO, Laurie Ann (Dr. John M.) Dorn of Munster, IN, and Kathy Jean (Michael J.) Kidwell of Danville; brother David E. (Vicki) Laughlin of White Bear Lake, MN; two sisters Alice Aylesworth of Syracuse, NY and Grace (David) Holm of Moose Lake, MN; seven grandchildren, Kristen (Andy) Blacksher, Brian White, Anna Dorn, Matthew Kidwell, Andrew Dorn, Ellie Dorn, and Kaley Kidwell; as well as her St. James Church Family. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mary graduated from Macalester College with a B.A. in business education, but enjoyed being a homemaker for her family. She was a member at St. James United Methodist Church where she was active as the volunteer membership secretary for over 35 years. She also enjoyed playing bridge and was actively involved in her grandchildrens lives. A service to celebrate the life of Mary Ann Taylor will be held at 1 PM on Friday, June 10, 2011 at St. James United Methodist Church. Pastor Ken Cox will officiate. Burial at Sunset Memorial Park will follow cremation rites. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 6:30PM on Thursday, June 9 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. The family requests no flowers. Memorials made to St. James United Methodist Church or the St. James Habitat for Humanity Project Fund will be appreciated.
