Mary Ann Neitzelt

Mary Ann Neitzelt, 90, of Georgetown, passed away at 3:09pm, Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Heartland Nursing Home, Decatur, IL. She was born on September 2, 1924, in Catlin, IL, the daughter of John and Anna {Paskavan} Mesich. She was united in marriage to James "Jit" Neitzelt on May 18, 1961, in Danville, IL, until his passing in 2005. Mary Ann worked in sales at Mr. Discount Furniture in Tilton. She was an avid gardener & a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed playing cards. Mary Ann loved taking care of her family and spending time with them. Mary Ann will be dearly missed by: her children, David (Debbie) Kanger of Somerville, TN, Mike (Jaime) Kanger of Indianola, & Nick (Rhonda) Kanger of Austin, TX; her grandchildren, Dana (Dave) Franz, Scott (Angela) Kanger, & David Kanger; her great granddaughters, Lindsey Franz & Alyse Kanger; and her sister-in-law, Collette Mesich of Severna Park, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Michael & John, & her sisters, Angeline & Katherine. A Celebration of Mary Ann's life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Father Deus Byomuhanji officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to St. Isaac Jogues Parish, Georgetown.
