Bismarck Mary Alice Stonecipher, 48, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL. She was born on September 18, 1973 in Danville, IL to Terry L. and Donna K. (Brown) Light. Mary married Ron Stonecipher on October 17, 1998 in Bismarck, IL.
Mary is survived by her parents; husband; children Parker Stonecipher and Addison Stonecipher; siblings Barbra (Mike) Fogle and Eric (Lindsay) Light; nieces and nephews Reagan Stimac, Ella Fogle, Alex Fogle, Corbin Light, and Cora Fogle; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Mary loved gardening as well as volunteering and giving back to her community. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1995 and began her horticulture career with Sunset Memorial Park shortly after. Mary was a Vermilion County Master Gardener, an instrumental member of the Douglas Discovery Garden, a 4-H leader and volunteer, and she established the Hospitality Barn at the Vermilion County Fair.
Memorial visitation will be held from 4pm-7pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, Illinois, 61834. Service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Sunset. Jim Russell will officiate. Urn committal will follow at Gundy Cemetery.
