Mary Alberta Gatterman

Danville - Gatterman Mary Alberta Gatterman, 88, of Danville IL., passed away at 12:52 pm on Friday April 26, 2013 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville IL. She was born on February 23, 1925 to Michael and Grace (Stark) Kerkes in Danville IL. Alberta married John H. Gatterman on May 19, 1946 in Danville, he preceded her in death in 1994. Alberta is survived by her son John M. (Deanna) Gatterman of Danville and her daughter Debra L. (Eugene Richard) Miller of Alvin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John and one brother. A graduate of Danville High School Alberta worked as a clerical secretary at several offices around Danville before devoting her life to raising her family. She loved her dogs and was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs. A private celebration of Alberta's life will be held on Wednesday May 1, 2013 with Pastor James Blue officiating at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville IL. Following the service Alberta will be entombed in the Swan court mausoleum in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Alberta's name to the Danville Humane Society.
