Mary A Sumila

Mary A. Sumila 94 of Westville, passed away at 10:00 pm Friday December31, 2010 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. She was born January 6, 1916 in Danville, the daughter of Pius and Mary Pulaski Adaminas. She married Louis Ale Sumila on October 15, 1938 in Westville; he preceded her in death in 1996. Those who will miss her are two sons; Arnold (Connie) Sumila of Westville, Robert (Donna) Sumila of Catlin, a daughter Toni Anne (Gary) Stella of Zionsville, IN, six grandchildren; Ken McAllister of Jacksonville,FL, Tara (Ryan) Brickley of Charlotte, NC, Danell (Jason) Napolsky of Spring Lake, NC, Ryan Sumila of DeKalb, Aaron Sumila of Carmel, IN and Gary (Maria) Stella of Benton, LA, also two great-grandchildren, a sister; Dorothy (Jack) Shingle of Alvin. She was preceded in death by her Parents one brother Rolland and two sisters Anne and Josephine. Mary retired from G.E. in Danville in 1970 with 25 years of service; she was a member of ST. Marys Catholic Church in Westville and the Rosary Society, also a member of DanGe club. Mary was an awesome cook and loved to bake. She also enjoyed Quilting in her spare time. Most of all Mary enjoyed her grandchildren; she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon at St. Marys Catholic Church in Westville on Wednesday January 5, 2011.With Father Robert Hoffman Officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a Rosary service starting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday January 5, 2011 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, a Life Celebration Home of Westville.
