Mary A. LeGrand, 91, of Westville, passed away at 8:30pm, Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Green Hill Manor, Fowler, IN. She was born on October 21, 1921, in Westville, IL, the daughter of Alfons and Jennie Doupox, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Louis LeGrand on May 15, 1978; her infant grandson, Mitchel; and her brother, Mitchel. She is survived by her son, Kenrick (Shirley) LeGrand of Rensselar, IN, and her grandchildren, Suzanne M LeGrand of New Jersey & Thomas Jacob T.J.' LeGrand of Terre Haute, IN. Mary attended school at St. Mary's, as well as, a member of the Church in Westville. She also attended school in Deerborn. She was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, American Legion Women's Auxiliary in Westville for 43 years, and Westville Sportsman's Club Auxiliary. She volunteered her time with Civil Defense during WWII, the Red Cross, and Meals on Wheels. Mary had worked at the Newport Ammunitions Plant in the Nitro section where they made RDX. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at1:00pm, Monday, November 19, 2012, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville, with Father Sauppe officiating. Visitation will be held 11am-1pm on Monday prior to her service. She will be laid to rest in Danville National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to St. Mary's Church of Westville.
