Mary Krusz, 86, of Danville, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2019, at Hawthorne Inn of Danville. Mary was born in Newark, New Jersey on April 9, 1932, to Andrew and Catherine (Barnas) Wasowski. She attended elementary and secondary schools in Poland and returned to New Jersey post-graduation.

Mary married Sylvester Krusz in New Jersey on July 31, 1954. They were blessed to have had 43 years of happy life together as husband and wife. Once settled in Danville, they enjoyed traveling with friends, gardening, and their pet cats. Sylvester preceded her in death in December 1997.

Mary was a loving wife and true homemaker. Close friends will remember Mary as a person with a kind heart and gentle spirit who put the needs of everyone before her own. She was an active member of St. Pauls Catholic Church in Danville.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Sylvester Krusz, and sister-in-law Julia Krusz. She will be deeply missed by close family friends Barbara Wolfe and family, Dr. George Zundo and family, and Mary Martin and family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Danville with Father Bo Schmitt officiating. She will be laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, in Danville. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834, has been entrusted with arrangements.
