DANVILLE- Marvin E. Sollars Sr., 64, of Danville, passed this life at 9:15pm, Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at the Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. Marvin was born on September 25, 1942, in Hemrod, IL, the son of Thomas and Ruth (Wright) Sollars. Both of his parents precede him in death. Those that survive Marvin are his three children; Marvin (Lisa) Sollars Jr. of Danville, Daniel (Shauna) Sollars of Danville, and Angel Hathaway of Danville. He is also survived by: his nine grandchildren, Zane Sollars, Logan Sollars, Dillon Steele, Brittany Steele, Makayla Campbell, Annabelle Campbell, Serenity Campbell, Lucas Campbell, and Lorraine Campbell, all of Danville; his three siblings, Richard (Dianne) Sollars of Hawbuck, Phillip (Patricia) Sollars of Hawbuck, and Beth Sis Lane of Danville. His wife-Christine Hathaway, and his brother-Tommy Joe Sollars precede Marvin in death. Marvin served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War for 3 years as an aircraft mechanic. After the service, Marvin worked for 32 years at General Electric in Danville, and 9 years at C.C.L. He enjoyed nature and being with his family. Marvin had a special love for air planes and horses, especially his pure breed horse, King Leo. Marvin was very determined and a man of his word. He fought all the way until the end. A celebration of Marvin Sollars Sr. life is scheduled for noon on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel in Westville, located at 414 S. State St. in Westville. Officiating will be Pastor James Blue. Final resting place will be at Sandusky Cemetery in Westville. Marvins visitation will be held from 11am until time of service on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the funeral home.
