Marvin Lee Grissom, 49, of Homer, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009 at his home. Marvin was born on September 21, 1959 in Danville, the son of Doyle W. and Racheal (Brewer) Grissom. He married Teresa Stanfield on July 31, 1983 at Kickapoo State Park. She preceded him in death on May of 1998. He later married Marilyn Frischkorn on January 1, 1999 at Kennekuk Park in Danville. She survives. He is survived by his daughter- Rusty Reena (Christopher) Sipes of Homer; four step-sons- Karl Frischkorn of Northfield, Minnesota, Kurt (Michelle) Frischkorn of Fairmount, Keith (Thia) Frischkorn of Oakwood and Kent Frischkorn of Danville; two brothers- Rance (Kay) Grissom of Fithian and Doyle B. Grissom of Urbana; one sister- Alinda McNeese of Homer; five grandchildren- Gage, Kailey, Brycie, Owen and Lane; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, wife- Teresa and one granddaughter -Krysseana Sipes. Marvin attended Homer High School. He worked at Orange Taxi in Champaign as a dispatcher. He loved music and fishing. Marvin also enjoyed spending time with his family. A Celebration of the Life of Marvin Lee Grissom will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel, with Dennis Anglin officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 " 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Old Homer Cemetery in Homer.
