Marvin J. Woods

Marvin J. Woods, 77, of Covington, IN, left this world peacefully with his friends, family and wife Lois by his side. He will be deeply missed by his wife Lois, children; Jeff Woods, Dave Woods, Randy Allen, Johnny Hill, Kristi Rogney, Melinda Jones, Lori Woods and Tammy Estes, nieces that were like daughters to him, Jennifer Wright and Amber Hillery, grandchildren; Ben Jones, Steve Jones, Kat Woods, Emily Woods, Sarah Woods, Levi Woods, Cassidy Woods, Erica Estes, Andrea Estes, Dalton and Brody Allen, great-grandchild, Ava Kurek and two more arriving this Spring. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Larry, Kenny and Eddie, sisters, Shirley and Marilyn and son-in-law, John Jones. Marvin was born in Tipton County, IN and was the son of Elmer and Helen (Ellis) Woods. He was a graduate of Purdue University. Marvin worked as plant manager at Lauhoff Grain Company for over 30 years. He was proud to serve Watershed Foods, based in Gridley, IL from 2010 to 2015. As a key leader in their journey Marvin took them from a fledgling startup to category leader through innovative equipment and processes that are leveraged to create healthy snacks for toddlers and kids around the world. Marvin loved animals. He was involved in showing hackney ponies for several years. He was an avid hunter, who loved the outdoors. Marvin was a big NASCAR fan often cheering on #14 Tony Stewart. His favorite sports teams were the Purdue Boilermakers and any team Peyton Manning was on. A celebration of life for a wonderful husband, father and God fearing man will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Beef House Banquet Hall.
