DANVILLE- Marvin B. Morgan, 88, of Danville, passed away at 6:05pm on Sunday, June 11th, 2006, at the Danville VA Illiana Health Care Systems. He was born on February 25th, 1918, in Westville, IL, the son of Thomas O. and Millie (Peace) Morgan. Both his parents precede him in death. In 1940, Marvin married Minnie Miethe. She preceded him in death in December 2002. In 2003, Marvin married Arlene Rice. She survives and will miss him. He will also be missed by: his two sons, Terry (Elaine) Morgan of Bowling Green, KY, and Larry (Kathy) Morgan of Danville; his daughter, Linda Maskel of Danville; one brother, Wid (Janet) Morgan of Georgetown; three sisters, Evelyn Farrell of Georgetown, Elsie Katovich of Danville, and Vera (Jim) Devore also of Danville; his eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Marvins two brothers, one sister, and one son-in-law preceded him in death. Marvin served in the United States Army during WWII with the 137th Infantry Division in Europe. After being honorably discharged, Marvin was employed with General Motors Tilton Foundry in Tilton, IL. After 22 years of service, he retired in 1976. He enjoyed playing music and being in the outdoors. He cherished his time spent with family and friends. A celebration of Marvins life will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, June 15th, 2006, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home located at 200 E. West St. in Georgetown. Rev. James Blue will officiate the service. He will be laid to rest at Niccum Cemetery in McKendree Twp. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Marvins name to the Alzheimers Foundation.
