Marvin A. Bonebrake, 88, of Georgetown passed away at 7:00 a.m. Friday March 20, 2009 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. He was born on July 22, 1920 in Georgetown, IL the son of Paul and Leona Onley Bonebrake. He married Esther Elizabeth Betty Bonebrake in 1942. She survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Phyllis Fraser of Georgetown, IL; two granddaughters, Kim Fraser of Carlinville, IL and Heather ( Aaron) Fraser-Soule of Volcano, HI and a great granddaughter, Rubyrae Fraser-Soule of Volcano, HI; one brother, Orville (Mary) Bonebrake of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Ronald Bonebrake and son-in-law, Robert Fraser. Marvin was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. He was a fast pitch softball pitcher for the U.S. army softball team in the Philippines. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. Marvin was the owner/operator of the L & M Slaughterhouse in Georgetown, IL. He was a member of the American Legion Dornblaser Post 203. A Celebration of Marvins life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday March 23, 2009 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. Steve Rutter will officiate. Burial will be at Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. prior to the services on Monday.
