Marvelle Adkisson, 90, of Georgetown, the mother of Donnie Wayne (Julia) Adkisson of Georgetown, Sherry (David) Skaggs of McAlester, Oklahoma, & Judy Hill of Hillsdale, Indiana, went to be with the Lord at 10:54pm, Sunday, August 8, 2021, at her home. She was born on March 7, 1931, in Faulkner County, Arkansas, the daughter of Brady Cox and Lula {Coker} Cox. She was united in marriage to Donnie Adkisson on December 12, 1947, until his passing on December 18, 2004. Marvelle loved and enjoyed her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends, and church. She also loved her flowers, hummingbirds, tea parties, and watching the little children in her neighborhood playing or riding their bikes. In her younger days, she was an avid gardener, camper, traveler, and volunteer. She previously worked at The Georgetown Sewing Factory, the Humdinger, and the Bowling Alley in Ridge Farm. We lost a great prayer warrior with her passing. Marvelle was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie; her sons, David and John; her son-in-law, Jerry Hill; her parents; and her siblings. A celebration of Marvelles life will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Georgetown Church of the Nazarene, 715 N. Main Street, Georgetown, with Pastor Gary Farris officiating.
