Marva Fitzwater-Moore

Marva Ellen Fitzwater-Moore, 53, of Georgetown, IL lost her fight with breast cancer on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital.

Marva was born April 9, 1968 to Marvin and Ruth (Gustin) Fitzwater of Georgetown, IL. They survive. She was a graduate of Georgetown School District, Illinois State University for her bachelors degree in special education, and University of Illinois for her masters degree in teaching administration.

She began her teaching career at PACE Al Alternative High School in Blue Island, IL and was most recently employed by the Georgetown-Ridge Farm School District #4, first at Pine Crest Elementary School and then Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School. She also worked as a school bus driver for the District 4 schools and formerly coached track and served as President of GREA.

Marva married E. Nathan Moore on June 26, 2004. He survives. Together they enjoyed going to Little Bear in Terre Haute, IN, traveling to try different restaurants throughout IL and IN, vacationing with Turner Coach Trips, and going to the shooting range. She also enjoyed her book club, playing with her pets, especially Roxanne, FiFi, and Rat, and her students and bus riders.

Marva is survived by her husband Nathan, her parents, and her brother Marvin (Tina) Fitzwater ll. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, a nephew, and various aunts, uncles, and cousins. Marva will always be loved and will be missed by her family, friends, and students. We wish we had more time together but will always value the time we had.

On Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 4-7pm CST the family will host a final farewell at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, IL. A short service will follow this visitation. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Marva's name to the American Cancer Society.
