Marty Casner

Marty R. Casner, 66, of Rossville, IL passed away peacefully at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL on November 1, 2024 at 12:20 AM with his daughter by his side.

Marty was born on August 5, 1958 in Danville, IL the son of Carl and Dorothy (Lawson) Casner. He married Theresa Vaughn on November 28, 1981 in Rossville, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Casner of Rossville, IL, four children, Brandon Casner of Hoopeston, IL, Starla Casner of Rossville, IL, John Casner of Hoopeston, IL and Dakota Casner of Rossville, IL, seven grandchildren, Landin, Haydin, Nola, Knox, Zayne, Camdin and Coltin as well as one sister, Gayla Comstock of Hoopeston, IL.

Marty is preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother and two sisters, Diane Mullin and Vanda Graves.

Marty worked for Penske as a diesel mechanic for many years. He enjoyed spending his free time tinkering on vehicles, taking care of his lawn and working on projects out in his pole barn. Marty was a workaholic and was always willing to lend family or friends a hand with a variety of projects. He loved his wife and children dearly and will be deeply missed by each of them.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
