WESTVILLE- Martin E. Sollars Jr., 67 of Westville, passed away at 5:58pm on Monday, February 26, 2007 at Provena USMC in Danville. Mr. Sollars was born on April 22, 1939, in Danville, the son of Martin E. Sollars Sr. and Winnifred Johnson Sollars. Both of his parents precede him in death. On March 18, 1961, Martin married Sandra Haussy at the St. Marys Church in Westville. Survivors include his wife Sandra, his four daughters; Jenny (Keith) Wiese of Westville, Jackie (Carl) Trapp of Westville, Chris (Jim) Delhaye of Westville, and Stephanie (Russell) Miller of Danville. His eight grandchildren; Nicki Wiese, Eric Wiese, Matthew Wiese, Amy Lester, Joseph Trapp, Rebecca Trapp, Jessica Miller, and Bryan Miller. Also surviving Martin are his three brothers; Charles Sollars of California, Texas (Teri) Sollars of Indiana, Mark (Rhonda) Sollars of Danville, and his sister; Shirley Morgan of Danville. His daughter, Jeri, his grandson, Kyle Trapp and his two brothers and two sisters precede Martin in death. Martin worked as a press operator for Heat Craft of Danville until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of St. Marys Church in Westville and enjoyed attending as often as he could. His hobbies included; camping, fishing, being outdoors, coin collecting, and working jigsaw puzzles. He enjoyed his time with his family, his grandchildren, and his faithful dog, Bubby. A funeral mass for Mr. Martin E. Sollars Jr. is scheduled for 11:00am on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at St. Marys Church in Westville. Father Thomas Badovski will officiate. Final resting place will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be between 6-8pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel of Westville located at 414 S. State St. in Westville. Memorials may be made in Martins name to the American Heart Association.
