Martin Paul Colclasure

Martin Paul Colclasure passed away October 28, 2023. He is survived by his children, Holley and Hayden, his brother, John, and mother, Marsha Cassida. He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Colclasure.

Those who knew Marty can attest that his character merits more praise than could ever fit into a book, let alone a few words. He grew up in Mahomet and attended Mahomet-Seymour High School. After graduating from Parkland, he served as an electrician at the University of Illinois. His impact on his town went deep, like the roots of a tree, and spread into the hearts of everyone he worked with. And Marty worked.

He was intentional, purposeful, compassionate, patient, and kind. He honored his family, his mother and father, and he loved his children even more. He walked upright with the Lord, and poured his generosity, kindness, and humor into everyone around him.

He battled neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer for an incredible eight years. Marty remained strong and supportive of his family, and those who knew him during this time. His sickness took his body, but it could never overtake him.

Saturday the night of the 28th, at the end of his time on this Earth, he was surrounded by friends and family. The room was overflowing with love as a testament to the way that Marty poured out himself into all of us.

Marty will be deeply missed.

On November 11 there will be a visitation from 11:30 to 1:30 followed by a Celebration of Life at Mahomet Christian Church, 908 N Lake of the Woods Rd, Mahomet. Memorial gifts in honor of Marty Colclasure may be given to Little Galilee Christian Camp and Retreat Center, 7539 Little Galilee Rd, Clinton, Il. 61727. or Mahomet Christian Church.

Arrangements are being managed by Sunset Funeral Home in Mahomet.
