Martha Stunkard

Martha Grace Stunkard, age 86, of Grand Junction, Colorado, formerly of Danville, passed away at 8:11 pm on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at St. Marys Hospital in Grand Junction. She was born April 21, 1922 in Danville the daughter of Owen and Nora Grace (Llewellyn) Jones. She married Oliver B. Stunkard on September 24, 1944 in Danville. He preceded her in death. Martha is survived by three sons: Rod, Tim, Brad Stunkard all of Grand Junction, Colorado; one daughter: Brenda (Larry) Bruneau of Broken Arrow, OK; one sister: Virginia Geades of Danville; two grandsons: Jason Lange of Grand Junction, CO, Brian (Michelle) Lange of Broken Arrow, OK; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Delbert Stunkard, and her brothers and sister: Don Jones, Margaret Hilligoss, and Alfred Jones. Martha worked as a assembly worker in the Danville area until moving with her family to Grand Junction, CO where she stayed at home to raise her children. She loved to go fishing and music. She enjoyed singing and playing the violin. Martha was also an artist. When she was younger, she was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Danville. A celebration of the life of Martha Stunkard will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, April 3, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Marthas name to the American Cancer Society.
