Martha Sollars

Martha Sollars, 92, of Georgetown, passed away at 8:30pm, Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 4, 1923, in Newport, IN, the daughter of Roy and Oressa {Jackson} Ingram. She was united in marriage to Charles F. Sollars Jr. on December 7, 1942, in Clinton, IN, until his passing in 1969. She will be missed by: her children, Charles Allen (Christine) Sollars of Bloomington, IL, Christopher Alan (Christina) Sollars, & Marcia Sue (Dan) Ferguson, both of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Daniel Mark (Kim Martin) Ferguson, Jennifer Dawn (Aaron) Davitt, Sarah Jane (Jason Morgan) Sollars, Charles "Chas" Christopher (Paige Porzelius) Sollars, Arie Christopher Sollars, Leanndra Paige Sollars, Charles Christopher Sollars, and Dylan Blaine Allison; her great grandchildren, Daniel Garrett Ferguson, Anna Jane Davitt, & Bailey Jane Sollars. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her brothers, Ora Ingram & Russell Ingram; and her sister, Mary Belle Swayze. Martha owned and operated the Sollars Store in Georgetown since 1949. She was a member of the First Church of Christ and was an active volunteer with Cub Scouts & Boy Scouts. She loved gardening and traveling. She loved reading books and visiting the Georgetown Library. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. Private family services will be held at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown with nephew, Zack Rainey, officiating. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
