Bloomingdale, Ind. -- Martha J. Lindley, 89, of Bloomingdale, Indiana, passed away at 9:30 p.m. CDT Wednesday(March 12, 2008) at her daughter's residence (Nancy Beukema) in De Motte, Indiana. She was born March 19, 1918 in Parke County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charlie and Flora Jones Craft. She married Leland Lindley on November 18, 1933 in Veedersburg, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1982. Survivors include: three daughters, Beverly(Rubin)Sweezy of Orange, Texas; Sue(John)Owensby of Elkhart, Indiana and Nancy(Walt)Beukema of DeMotte, Indiana; three sons, Gerald(Marge)Lindley of Covington, Indiana; Chester(Diane)Lindley of Orange, Texas and Howard(Jan)Lindley of Bloomingdale, Indiana; 150 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Harper of Bloomingdale, Indiana and one brother, Aaron(Barbara)Craft of Roachdale, Indiana. She was preceded in death by one daughter; two sons; one grandson, Dean Saylor; five sisters and four brothers. Martha retired from R.M.C. in Attica, Indiana in 1978. She was a member of the Country Side Baptist Church in Tangier, Indiana. She enjoyed reading. Funeral services: 1 p.m. EDT Sunday, March 16, 2008 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Tim Johnson; Burial: Rush Creek Cemetery, Tangier, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the funeral home.
