Marsha L. Robbins

Marsha Louise Robbins, 61, of Bismarck, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 9:35 PM. Marsha was born in Decatur, Illinois, on December 25, 1957, the daughter of Thomas Vice and Mildred L. Alumbaugh and was raised in Sullivan, Illinois. She married Jerry Robbins on November 10, 2000. He survives.

Marsha will be missed by her husband, step-daughter; Heather (Garrett) Douglass and three grandsons; Blake, Brennen and Cameron Douglass.

She is preceded in death by her parents and step daughter-Andrea Robbins.

Marsha received her undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University and then went on to get her masters. She started her teaching career at Diamond Grade School in Danville. After only a semester of teaching at Diamond she spent the rest of her teaching career at Bismarck Henning School District where she taught 2nd grade for a couple of years and finished out as the 5th grade teacher. While teaching at Bismarck she received the Golden Ruler Award in 2014. Her teaching career spanned from 1981-2014. She also worked at the YMCA in Danville for many years.

Marsha loved her swim class at poolside, vacationing in Mexico, and was an avid sports fan. She especially loved cheering on the Bismarck-Henning Blue Devils, University of Illinois and the St. Louis Cardinals. She also kept score at many Bismarck sporting events such as; volleyball, basketball, and track. Marsha was also a member of the Rossville Methodist Church. Marsha cherished her time more than anything.

A celebration of life memorial service for Marsha will be held at 6:00 PM Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastor Chris Quick officiating. Memorial visitation will be held from 2-6 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Marshas name to the American Cancer Society.
