Marrilyn J Hamparian of Rantoul, IL, passed away March 15, 2026, at home surrounded by family.

She was born December 9 1932, in Albert Lea MN to Harold and Helen Buck. Three brothers Dr Jon Buck(Grace) of Northfield, MN; Michael Buck(Bebe)of Eau Claire, WI; Randy Buck(Audrey)- of Sandpoint ID, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She graduated from Austin High School in 1950 and Eastern IL Univ in 1985. Military Service (USAF)as a ground radio operator.

She married Henry P Hamparian in 1954, a double wedding at Mitchell AFB, NY. Worked in federal Civil Service at Keesler AFB, MS & Chanute AFB, IL as Chief of Word Processing Unit: retired as a Master Instructor in Electrical Aircraft Branch in 1988.

She enjoyed a variety of hobbies like bowling, ice skating, cards, and bunko clubs. She was an avid fan of Illini basketball & the Chicago White Sock.

She was a faithful follower of Rantoul girls' softball, having attended games over 30 years of her granddaughter's. She was instrumental in establishing a women's softball league back in 1969, awarded MVP as player/coach in 1971.

She was a member of the US Air Force team, traveling the East Coast in 1952-54. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry P. Hamparian in 1983; her parents, a brother (Randy Buck), a daughter (Cheryl A. Reed), and a granddaughter (Jennifer M. Tolbert (Pagel)).

She is survived by daughter Linda L. Beurrier(Robert) of Crossville, TN; 7 granddaughters Julie Douglas, Jodie Evans, Ashley Lowe, and Alyssa Reed of Rantoul IL; Jessica Neagley(Brandon) of Crossville, TN; Janis Wells(Kevin) of Mason, TN; 15 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center's Lux Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave. Rantoul, IL 61866.

Internment with full military honors will be held at Grandview Cemetery, Austin, Minnesota, at a date and time TBD.
