Marolyn Jeffers, 85, passed away on August 15, 2026 at her home in Fairmount, Illinois. She was born on July 14, 1941 in Williamsport, Indiana to the late Edna {Hume} and Willis Drummond. She attended Van Buren High School in Veedersburg, Indiana and married the love of her life, David Jeffers, on May 21, 1975 in Danville. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2021.
Marolyn spent nearly 3 decades working in various different positions at General Motors. She accepted an early retirement when the factory moved. She quickly began working at Century 21 Real Estate soon after and held a position there for many years. She then continued her career at H&R Block doing taxes for the next 20 years, before actually retiring. However, those who knew Marolyn knew she wasn’t one to sit still for long. Even in the final years of her illness, she still found little jobs to do to assist others whenever tasks were available to her.
Throughout the years, her and David looked forward to their numerous motorcycle adventures, proudly making their way through all the States and most provinces of Canada. She will not only be remembered for being strong-willed, but also for her caring and nurturing spirit. She loved animals of all sorts and enjoyed being outside whenever given the chance. She enjoyed working outdoors in the fresh air and attending to her hummingbirds. Her family will fondly remember her morning routine that consisted of her favorite cup of cappuccino and a sudoku puzzle.
Marolyn is survived by her children, Tina (Carl) Silvey of Danville, Carl Edward Scaggs of Phoenix, Az., Terri (Jim) Keeling of Butler, Pa., Chris (Tim) Wells of Danville, Tricia (Jacob) Tutwiler of Fairmount, Patty (Tony) Vecellio of Danville, and Leo (Michelle) Jeffers of Fithian; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings John (Carrie) Drummond of Bloomington, In., and Helen Knopfel, of Columbia, Tn., as well as her aunt Loretta Hume of Longmont, Co., and her high school best friend Ruthie Quintela of Ft. Stockton, Tx.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marolyn was preceded in death by her children Theresa Ann Scaggs and James David Jeffers; as well as her brothers Martin and Marvin Drummond.
Per Marolyn’s wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held at this time. Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville assisted her family with arrangements. Please join fer family in sharing fond memories, online condolences, and pictures on her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
