Marlene Joyce Sollars, 86, of Danville, IL passed away at 8:10 AM on June 29, 2026 at Accolade Healthcare in Danville, IL.

Marlene was born on August 6, 1939 in St James, MN the daughter of Herman and Matie (Joblinski) Nibbe.

Marlene is survived by her children, Cheryl Dowers of Danville, IL, Cathy Tiernan of Danville, IL and Cindy Sams of Westville, IL, three grandchildren, Amanda (Michael) Burress of Danville, IL, Thomas (Deejay) Tiernan, of Danville, IL and Brooklyn McCoy of Westville, IL, great grandson, Travis Tiernan of Danville, IL as well as her siblings, Ethel Gooch of Indianola, IL Bobby (Gloria) Nibbe of Danville, IL, Roger Nibbe of Danville, IL, and Warren (Sharon) Nibbe of Westville, IL.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Jody Ring, Carol Deffenbaugh, Kenneth Nibbe, Howard Nibbe, Darwin Nibbe and J.R. Nibbe.

Marlene enjoyed spending her free time bowling and participated in a bowling league for many years. She also enjoyed playing cards, dice games, gambling and watching Gunsmoke on television.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 6, 2026 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Danville, IL. Rod Godley will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 AM on Monday, July 6, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834
