Danville Marlene (VanBogart) Campbell, 86, formerly of Danville, IL passed away at Rambling Oaks Nursing Home in Highland Village, TX.

Marlene was born on November 23, 1932 in Danville, IL the daughter of George Franklin and Ruby (Mitchell) VanBogart. On December 31, 1950, Marlene married Paul Alden Campbell and they spent 66 years together before his passing.

Marlene is survived by her daughter; Pamela J. (Ricke) Rubin, one son; Scott Alden (Sally) Campbell, one sister-in-law; Mary Jane (David) Gladden, one grandson; Aaron J. Campbell as well as several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Paul, one son; Todd Andrew Campbell, one brother; Robert S. VanBogart and three sisters Wanda VanBogart, Wilma Phipps and Bernice Weddle.

Marlene was a graduate of Danville High School and attended Brown Business college. She retired from the Veterans Hospital as an Administrative Secretary. She enjoyed sewing, yard work and all animals, especially her dogs. Marlene had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed sharing it with the Staff at Hawthorne Inn in Danville and Rambling Oaks Asst. Living in Highland Park, TX.

A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 9:00 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834, with Raymie Gordon officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to C.A.R.A of Tilton or Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
