Mark Vargo

Mark D. Vargo, 58, of Danville passed away at OSF Sacred Heart in Danville on November 11, 2021. He was born in Danville on December 26, 1962 the son of Louis and Shirley Vargo. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his grandmother Gladys Padgett, whom he was very close with, and his Uncle Lonny and Aunt Beverly Padgett.

Mark is missed by his cousins Christine (Donald) Budnovich, Courtney, Zane, Ayla, Dana (John) Fischetti, Justin, and Katie; Bill and Claire Gifford, whom he affectionately referred to as his "adoptive parents"; 'Mom' Barb; 'Saint' Catherine; and his 'Big Brothers' Reini, Brian, and Jeff. He also leaves behind so many close friends that he considered his family.

Mark loved all things Batman and enjoyed finding new memorabilia to add to his extensive Batman collection. He was always looking forward to family cookouts and get-togethers when he could be surrounded by those he loved so dearly. He was a proud fourth-degree Knight of Columbus and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville. He even sang in the church choir.

A visitation will be held for Mark on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 5:00 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. A Rosary Service will be held prior to the visitation at 4:30pm. Mark would want everybody to come dressed as they are or sporting Batman attire. A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, located at 444 E. Main Street in Danville.
