Mark Neil, 60 of Danville, passed away on March 23, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on April 24, 1954 in Danville, the son of Robert “Rod” and Ruby (Lucas) Neil. He married Julie Joesting on July 5, 1990 at Webber Street Church of Christ. She survives. Mark will be deeply missed by his mother, Ruby Neil, wife, Julie Neil, children; Samantha (Alan) Kitchen, Natalie Alyse Neil, Brianne Danielle Neil and Benjamin Markus Neil, sister, Cathy (Bruce) Loeppke, granddaughter, Avery Kitchen, mother-in-law, Char Joesting, brothers-in-law; Kim (Christine) Joesting and Clark (Kelly) Joesting and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Rod Neil, father-in-law, Fritz Joesting and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Joesting. Mark was dedicated to his career in education with Danville District 118 schools for 29yrs. Upon his retirement in 2013 he enjoyed a new adventure with the SAM Innovative Project, working with administrators in schools across the country. Mark had a great love for fishing, reading, going on family vacations to the beach, and spending time in their pool. His family will remember his integrity, kind heart, loyalty, compassion and devout faith that he instilled in all of them. A celebration of Marks life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Crossroads Christian Church at 12:00 noon with Miles Clark officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00am- 12:00 noon prior to the service. Private graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park at a later time. Memorials can be made to the family for an education fund for Marks children at Education Personnel Federal Credit Union (1102 N. Walnut St. Danville, IL 61832).
