Mark Lee Meyer, previously of Danville, IL went to be with his Lord on May 28th, 2023 in Westfield, IN. Mark was born on December 20th, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Lester and Leota Meyer. He is survived by his three children Brian (Kelly) Meyer, Carmen Bailey, and Lee Ann Meyer, five grandchildren, Sarah, Bryson, Mark (Katie), Mara (Cole), and Alicia, four great grandchildren Preston, Payton, Parker, and Adaline, with another great grandson expected in June. Mark is preceded in death by his wife, Katie, and great grandson Paxton Martig. Mark was born and raised on a farm in the Indianapolis area, but soon pursued his love of auto mechanics working for Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis where he received many awards, and later opened his own automotive repair business in Indianapolis. In 1964 Mark joined Hyster Company as a Field Service Engineer, holding several positions within the company until his retirement in 2000 as North American Director of Service Operations for Hyster Company. During his tenure at Hyster Company and into retirement he was a volunteer and instructor for National Association of Service Management, American Management Association, and local Training Program development for material handling equipment. He loved to serve others and was very active in the Danville Christian Home for Youth, Habitat for Humanity, C.A.S.A., Danville Rescue Mission, and was on the board of Vermilion County Conservation Foundation. Bethel Lutheran Church was his second home, participating in Church Council, Community Outreach Programs, Choir, Meals on Wheels Program, and was an Assistant Minister. His favorite hobbies included yard work, the outdoors, fishing, racing, and spending time with his family and friends. Marks love for his Lord, tireless work, dedication, and kindness to others will be truly missed by his family, friends, and those in the community. Visitation will be from 9:00 11:00 am at Bethel Lutheran Church in Danville, IL on Friday, June 2 nd, 2023, with a Celebration of Life immediately after. Mark will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park next to his wife Katie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church.
